Present day urbanization and culture has many features which has its root in Indus valley civilization.following are the feature which substantiate the present day urbanization and culture owes its origin to IVC.

1. TOWN PLANNING- IVC was known for its town planning.Grid system was there in which roads cut each other at right angle.Burnt bricks were used for construction of citadel and other structure. The most outstanding feature was GREAT BATH at mohenjodaro.
presnt day urbanisation has GRID pattern of roads,Burnt bricks are being used to this days for constuction. Great bath was a public bath mainly used for sacrificial purpose, today its reflection can be seen in HOLY ganga used for rituals and for removing all sins.

2.AGRICULTURE- Agriculture was prevalent and many crops were grown. Evidence of Maize, barley, millet etc had been found.
today, these crops are widely cultivated.

3.RELIGION- Mother goddess and Pahupati mahadev was worshipped by Harrapans. moreover, trees, animals were also worshipped. Seal of bull has been found.
even today, trees(pipal, neem.tulsi) and animals are worshipped. Shiva and Shakti are being worshipped in HINDUISIM,

4.SWASTIKA- Today, swastika is been used for holy purposed. It traced its origin form IVC.

5.Trade- land and sea trade was prominent during those times, so is it today.

6.arts- harrapans were the first to paint the pottery and it got evolved over the time. so Painting can be attributed to harrapans.

7.USE OF GRANARIES- granaries was prevalent during IVC. it wass used as stock, for export, taxes etc.
Today government used it in modifief form to feed the deficit area through programmes(PDS) run by them.

So, today whatever the level of culture and urbanization be,it has evolved over time, but it lays its origin to first urbanization of Indian subcontinent-IVC.
