In your opinion, how can our cities guarantee acceptable standards of public service delivery and good governance to 400 million Indians today and 800 million Indians by 2050? Analyse.

 With high growth of population and demand in Urban areas, we need good public service delivery and good governance to all population for today and future.

Public service delivery are facilities and provisions provided by Govt to nearby targetted citizen like Medical, Transport, Education, Sanitation, Housing, Financial, Judicial etc. Some steps are:

(1.) Implementing Smart Cities projects and wide usage of IT services in daily life.

(2.) Better Transport using JNNURM funds, wider infrastructures like roads, over bridge, safe railway crossing etc. It will also reduce pollution and traffic congestion.

(3.) Fast and fair judicial process

(4.) Available, affordable and accessible education and food security.

(5.) More power to secreteriat to execute local projects faster without delay to save project and congestion cost.

(6.) Rehabilitating slum dwellers, preventing any new slum settlement, providing affordable medical facility for poors.
(7.)Accountablitiy, transparency and fairness in govt procedures. Muncipal bonds, financing and staffing to deliver service in time is essential

When all these looks good in listing, we must consider the vast populations that India’s urban might be holding in future. So, the most prudent and essential steps is to check migration from rural by providing employment, education and health facilities there only. Nobody wants to leave home to unknown cities for job.

--An effective management of a region, firstly calls for a good infrastructure being built in that section, so as to ease the process of good governance, making life easier both for the citizens and administration.
--The various methods by which good governance can be guaranteed are:

1. Adequate facility of emergency services in the region, which can handle any untoward situation, like any natural disaster, public unrest, etc.
2. Effective security measures for the women, children and the elderly, while ensuring their well being inside and outside home.
3. Regular patrolling of police personnels in the region, to keep the crime off the streets.
4. Proper system to help the citizens in making more suggestions, by which the govt can improve their working
5. For curbing over urbanization and increasing pollution in the cities, the govt can build counter magnets near such crowded cities, so as to relieve the pressure from such cities
6. Higher education system can also be reformed to make the people employable in the long run, rather than focusing on marks approach

--Such goals can be achieved by the Smart cities project already started by the govt., which covers most of the above provisions. Complaint boxes should be accessible to all people, by being present at all post offices. For skill imparting for better service delivery, govt has started the PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana and PM Antayodya Yojana, which aims to increase employment and make the citizens able, for being active participants in the rise of good governance in the country.
